Green Chemistry Student Tutorial Module®

  • The CCS mission: assure that hazardous chemicals, their products, and manufacturing processes are used with minimal risks for workers, consumers, and the environment

  • Chemists synthesize chemicals and create products to fulfill specific functions

  • Chemists do not normally receive toxicology training to enable them to also think about undesired effects on people or the environment

  • This CCS system teaches toxicology principles to chemists so they can focus on both function & toxic effects

  • The Web-based CCS module provides 3 components:

  1. Built-in chemical hazard databases

  2. Software designed to quantify chemical hazards, product risks, and lifecycle impacts

  3. A textbook & workbook that is the chemists first exposure to toxicology principles

Education is the key to protecting consumers, workers, and the environment!

CCS has recently combined our sole source databases and analytical capabilities into the Green Chemistry Student Tutorial Module® (GC-STM®) – one of 10 modules in our GreenSuite®, and the 41st software module in our toolbox. This completed GC-STM® Internet-accessible system, along with its accompanying textbook, can teach chemistry students in universities throughout the world how to quantitatively combine the principles of green chemistry with toxicology hazard and exposure data and, thereby, create greener chemicals, products, and manufacturing processes that minimize environmental pollution.
